The Washington Nationals endured a difficult day on Monday, losing to the Pirates 6-5 to extend their losing streak to four games and firing their hitting coach, Rick Eckstein, as the first victim of their underperformance this season.

So they turn their eyes toward Tuesday night’s game hoping that rookie Taylor Jordan, who remains in the rotation because of Ross Detwiler’s injury, will be able to get them back on track. He’ll have stiff competition in Pirates right-hander Gerrit Cole, who’ll make up the other side of this talented rookie battle.
