Jordan Zimmermann carries a 7-2 record with a 1.62 ERA into his start against the Philadelphia Phillies tonight, and the Nationals, looking to get on a winning streak, are hoping for more of the same from their tough right-hander.

Zimmermann will have a bit of a different lineup behind him. Danny Espinosa is out for at least a few days with a fracture in his right wrist and Tyler Moore is getting the start in left field, despite the team facing a right-hander in Kyle Kendrick.

In other news, Davey Johnson was sporting a bit more gray stubble on Friday. The manager said he will not shave until the Nationals start hitting. So there’s that.

“I couldn’t get any uglier so what the heck,” he said. “Hopefully I can shave soon. Now that it’s gray, you can’t really see it except for in get these close-ups that I get after the game. I apologize. Can’t change the shape of a watermelon anyway.”
