Nationals - Tigers lineups: Jayson Werth still out as Nationals reset after postponement

The Washington Nationals had an unexpected night off on Tuesday when inclement weather postponed the opener of their two-game series against the Detroit Tigers.

With the weather sunnier on Wednesday, though the forecast calls for rain on and off throughout the night, right fielder Jayson Werth was still out of the lineup. It would be the fourth straight game Werth has missed, and the sixth consecutive day without playing for the right fielder.

The Nationals are taking a cautious approach with Werth, though the disabled list appears out of the question at this time, and they believe the right hamstring issue is still minor.

The trick is allowing him enough time to heal so that it doesn’t become something more major.

At any rate, he will not face Anibal Sanchez on Wednesday — which might not be the worst thing in the world for Werth or the Nationals. In his career, Werth has faced Sanchez 31 times. While he does have two doubles, a home run and a walk, he’s also struck out 19 times.

Here are the full lineups:

Denard Span CF
