NEW YORK — Jordan Zimmermann will have a chance to become the first 17-game winner in the National League Tuesday night when he takes the mound to make his 29th start of the season.

Zimmermann seems to have regained his pre-All-Star game form of late, going at least seven innings and never allowing more than three runs in any of his last three starts. He’s facing a largely depleted Mets lineup on Tuesday night, too, which mustered only one hit off Gio Gonzalez on Monday.

The Nationals are sticking with largely the same lineup they used when they clubbed five home runs in Monday’s series opener.
