Quick hits from baseball's new CBA

Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Union reached a monumental step today when they announced a new collective bargaining agreement. It meant that there would be five more years of labor peace in Major League Baseball and that, when the new CBA expires in Dec. 2016, baseball will have been through 21 years of labor peace.

Nationals meeting with LHP Mark Buehrle at his home today

The Nationals have zeroed in on free agent Mark Buehrle and are visiting with the left-hander today at his home in St. Louis. A source confirmed the Washington Post report that the meeting was indeed happening and a group led by Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo was sitting down with Buehrle and his agent, Jeff Berry.

Nationals add Norris, Moore, Solano, Perez and Kimball to 40-man roster

The Nationals protected four of their top minor leaguers from the Rule 5 draft Friday afternoon when they added catcher Derek Norris, first baseman Tyler Moore, catcher Jhonatan Solano and outfielder Eury Perez to the team's 40-man roster. They also added Cole Kimball back to the 40-man, after re-claiming him from the Toronto Blue Jays (who'd claimed him Wednesday).
