Though he’s been irrelevant for nearly six seasons, the irascible 45-year-old Aussie accepted a spot in this week’s shortened invitational field (bumping out hungry, talented alternates like countryman Nick Flanagan), posted an opening 76 and promptly chose to withdraw.
