An airliner heading from San Salvador to Los Angeles was diverted to Ontario, and its passengers were kept inside for nine hours as it sat on the runway, the Los Angeles Times is reporting.

It’s been a while since there was a story about airline passengers being kept in a plane against their will for hours on end. I was beginning to think the airlines had learned their lesson. But it seems they haven’t.

One of these days they’re going to keep some passengers in a plane against their will, and the passengers will turn on each other and go all Lord of the Flies, and resort to cannibalism. Cannibalism!
