Democratic challenger Al Franken closed the gap slightly in the Minnesota recount in his bid to unseat Republican Sen. Norm Coleman, the Minneapolis Star Tribune is reporting.

Coleman had led Franken by 303 votes, but Franken picked up 37 votes in the hand recount, which is continuing.
