Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich has appointed a former state attorney general to fill a vacant U.S. Senate seat that he is accused of trying to sell, Stephen Dinan is reporting.

Blagojevich named Roland Burris to the post.  The U.S. Senate, which currently is all white, has said it will not seat Burris, who is black, because of the scandal surrounding Blagojevich, who is battling impeachment proceedings.

That’ll show ‘em something.  I’m the governor.  I’m Rod Blegochvic … Blogasamich … Balsamavich.  I’m the governor.  They can’t treat me like this.

Impeach me?  Impeach this!  And nobody’s making fun of my hair now, are they?  I ain’t going down without a fight.  They’re going to remember Rod Blasphemavich … Blagosovich … my name for a long time.  Yeah.
