Obama raises cash for Reid, other Dems

President Obama is out West raising money for embattled Democratic lawmakers, such as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada, the AP is reporting.

The president headed a fundraiser for Reid at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Bette Midler and Sheryl Crow also performed at the event.

On Wednesday, after an 80-minute visit to a photovoltaic facility at Nevada’s Nellis Air Force Base, Obama plans to host a fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. He flies back to Washington early Thursday, the AP reports.

I hear that Obama bet his health care plan at the roulette table.  The ball landed in the red.

He had better luck with blackjack.  He was dealt a 10 and a 9, and he asked for a hit and got a 2.  Unfortunately he was at the poker table.

I didn’t know the Democrats were hard up for cash, since they run the White House, the Senate, the House, General Motors, AIG … If they really need some fundraising muscle, they could always hire Rod Blagojevich.  He knows a thing or two about that.
