The NBA released the schedule for the coming season and the Wizards will open the season at home against New Jersey on Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Six of the Wizards’ first 14 games will be played on the road, including stops at Detroit, Milwaukee, Orlando, Miami, Atlanta and New York. A few key dates stand out. The Wizards will play host to the reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics on Dec. 11. The game will air on ESPN.
Christmas day will feature a renewal of the Wizards’ rivalry with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Washington will play at Cleveland in a nationally televised game that will air on TNT. The Wizards will face the Cavaliers a total of four times this season.
The Wizards have two west-coast swings. The first, Jan. 19-24, features stops in Golden State, Sacramento, Los Angeles to take on the Lakers and Portland. The second, March 17-21, features the Jazz, Clippers, Nuggets and Suns.
