And they face the task of defeating the Cavaliers, who are 14-0 at home this season.
The Wizards will go with the same starters as they did in Charlotte: Mike James and Caron Butler at guard, Dominic McGuire and Antawn Jamison at forward and Andray Blatche at center.
The Wizards will be wearing white uniforms, which they normally wear at home. But LeBron James decided he wanted the Cavs to wear their dark blue jerseys today, and what James wants, James gets.
So, while the rest of the teams in the league today are wearing special snowflake Christmas patches, the Wizards will not be because the NBA sent them blue jerseys with the Christmas patch on them, and white ones were never made. The “chalk shoes” which get their name because LeBron throws a bunch of chalk up before every game, are dark blue. The Wizards had brought the blue jerseys with them, and not the white, so the Cavaliers had to send an employee to the District to picke up the Wizards’ white jerseys. Crazy.
Oh, and a sidenote … Roger Mason Jr., who this season is averaging 12.8 points a game while shooting .475 percent from three-point range for the Spurs, nailed a buzzer-beating 3-pointer earlier today to lift the Spurs over the Suns, 91-90. Ah, the one that got away.
