The Washington Wizards will take on a New York Knicks team that will dress only seven players after shipping out their top two scorers Zach Randolph and Jamal Crawford last night for Al Harrington, Cuttino Mobley and Tim Thomas, who must first pass physicals and won’t be active until Tuesday.
But despite the fact that the Knicks lose a combined 40.2 points, 13.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists a game, Jordan told his team to brace for an opponent eager to pounce on them.
“I tell them the Knicks are seeing a 1-9 team and they’re going to be licking their chops. … No one’s more down than us, recordwise,” Jordan said.
The Wizards will again go with a starting lineup of Dee Brown, DeShawn Stevenson, Caron Butler, Antawn Jamison and JaVale McGee. Jordan praised the pace at which the unit has started the last two games, and hopes the trend can continue.
Tonight’s inactive player will be Antonio Daniels, who returned to action last night after sitting with a sore right knee the three previous games. Jordan said the guard “thinks he’s ready to go, but our coaches didn’t like his pregame, so we want to be sure.”
