The Wizards are now two days away from training camp, which will take place from Saturday to Oct. 3 at VCU, and president Ernie Grunfeld said this afternoon that he doesn’t plan on making any additions — by way of signings or trades — between now and the start of camp.
Ernie reiterated — as he and coach Eddie Jordan said on Tuesday — that Wizards brass likes the group that has been assembled and they believe it’s a deep squad, which will make for a competitive atmosphere down in Richmond. Aside from Gilbert Arenas — out until at least December with that left knee — the Wizards are completely healthy.
Etan Thomas was fully cleared earlier this summer is completely recovered from the heart surgery that kept him out all of last season and has been playing pickup games for the last two months.
Oleksiy Pecherov was slowed by an ankle injury this summer, but he is back to full strength and expected to be ready to go Saturday as well.
The Wizards host media day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. tomorrow at Verizon Center. If anyone out there has questions they want me to try to get answers for, then drop me a line.
