Antawn Jamison went through a second day of practice and reported no problems with his right shoulder and said he’s eager to get back to action as the Wizards take on the Cleveland Cavaliers tomorrow.
Randy Foye also was on the practice court today and he too is expecting to play tomorrow night. Fabricio Oberto said his left hamstring feels pretty good today. He practiced for the first hour of today’s session and then was held out for the second portion.
Now the Wizards believe they can pick back up where they left off in the preseason just before Jamison got hurt. Guys are back in their natural positions and feel more comfortable because of the impact of Jamison’s play and on-court leadership.
Flip Saunders said his players went through a spirited practice today and looked nothing like a down-trodden team that had lost six straight. He’s expecting a highly motivated squad to show up tomorrow as well as the Wizards try to hit the re-set button on their season.
“We’re not going to worry about the nine games we’ve already played,” Saunders said. “We’re going to worry about the next 73 games we’re going to play and build off of what we’re going to do starting out, knowing that we’ve got some tough things ahead. But I’d be surprised if we didn’t play well tomorrow.”
