A new study by professor Valerie Hudson at Brigham Young University suggests that the better women are treated in a country, the more peaceful and secure that country is. The seven-year-long study found a statistically-significant correlation between women’s security and a nation’s peacefulness.

The findings are compiled in a database of 260 factors affecting women in 174 countries and were published in the journal International Security put out by Harvard’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
