President Bush today postponed his departure from Washington for his traditional August vacation at his Texas ranch, as he sought to respond to a crisis in the Caucasus nation of Georgia.
Mr. Bush had been scheduled to leave the White House for Crawford, Tx., on Thursday morning. He will now likely leave on Friday.
“The capabilities of the president to communicate with his team exist wherever he goes. But there is a benefit to face-to-face communication, and so the president just wanted one more day to be with his team,” said White House press secretary Dana Perino.
