An unusual present for the president

This may top the list of unique presents that President Bush will receive on his way out.

During a visit Thursday to the Marine helicopter unit that has ferried him around the world, the president received a piece of a tail rotor and a window from one of the VH-60N “White top” helicopters that becomes “Marine One” when the president is on board.

Following a speech at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Va., the president took a short chopper ride to Marine Helicopter Squadron One hangar at Marine Corps Air Facility Quantico, according to a pool report.

He spoke, shook hands and took pictures with about 500 of the 700 members of the HMX-1 “Nighthawks,” who carry not only the president, but also the vice president and cabinet members.
