Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama are set to do multiple interviews this evening after their meeting with President Bush and congressional leaders at the White House.
It’s presumed that the presidential candidates will appear, separate from one another, on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN and Fox News.
The two men are going to the White House to talk over the administration’s $700 billion economic rescue plan, which Democrats said has been agreed to in Congress today.
Republicans continue to put the skids on the idea that a deal is finalized.
“Members from all sides of the aisle continue to talk,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said this afternoon. “There was constructive progress among some members of the Banking Committee and we will review these and other ideas with the Congressional Leadership, the Secretary of the Treasury, the President and the two Presidential candidates.”
