A new trend: The "BlackBerry break"

← return to POTUS Notes

Look for this to become a trend. The New American Foundation is introducing 15-minute “BlackBerry breaks” into its conference and seminars.

The group’s executive vice president, Steve Clemons, said he wasn’t sure when he came up with the idea.

“Really don’t know where I got nudged on this — might have seen on an overseas conference,” he said in an e-mail. “But I sort of woke up a few days ago and thought it sounded fun.”

Hopefully conference attendees will understand that these breaks can still serve as bathroom breaks. They’re not exclusively for BlackBerry useage.
