BALTIMORE | Animal Kingdom drew the No. 11 post for the Preakness as he and his connections try to capture the second jewel of horse racing’s Triple Crown.

Animal Kingdom, the 2-1 favorite on the morning line, is on the outside edge, which is just where trainer Graham Motion wanted to be.

Dialed In, the second choice on Frank Carulli’s morning line at 9-2, is right next to the Kentucky Derby winner with the No. 10 post.

“As long as I’m not 1 or 14, I don’t care,” Dialed In trainer Nick Zito said.

Those spots belong to Astrology (15-1) on the rail and Mr. Commons (20-1) on the far outside.

Mucho Macho Man is the third favorite on the morning line at 6-1, and trainer Kathy Ritvo said she was happy about the No. 9 post – and everything about being at the Preakness. She underwent a heart transplant 2 ½ years ago but said the horse got her to Baltimore and not her story.

Rounding out the field are No. 2 Norman Asbjornson (30-1), No. 3 King Congie (20-1), No. 4 Flashpoint (20-1), No. 5 Shackelford (12-1), No. 6 Sway Away (15-1), No. 7 Midnight Interlude (15-1), No. 8 Dance City (12-1), No. 12 Isn’t He Perfect (30-1) and No. 13 Concealed Identity (30-1).
