The Redskins are cutting players this morning ahead of a mandatory team meeting scheduled for approximately 12:30 p.m.
Center Casey Rabach in a phone conversation confirmed he has been released.
“Everything must come to an end at some point,” Rabach said.
He was the Redskins’ starting center for all but one game since 2005.
“First and foremost, the relationships that you form with the guys in the locker room and the support staff, the trainers and equipment guys, that’s what I’ll take away and miss, honestly.”
Rabach’s said his best lasting memory will be the playoff run in 2007.
“Looking back at my tenure here, the year that Sean [Taylor] was murdered just sticks out in my mind the most. The group of guys and the highs and lows…were amazing.”
Defensive end Phil Daniels tweeted that he has been released. He joined the Redskins back in coach Joe Gibbs’ first year in 2004.
Receiver Roydell Williams was released, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
Stay tuned because this list is going to grow.
