Running back Tim Hightower was carted to the locker room after suffering a left knee injury during the third quarter of the Redskins’ game against Carolina Sunday.

Hightower planted his left leg on a run to the left and fell, clutching his knee. There did not appear to be contact on the play. He had to be helped off the field.

Ryan Torain and Roy Helu have both taken snaps since Hightower went out.

Hightower started the game and had 88 yards on 17 carries. Concerned teammates crowded around the trainer’s table as he was evaluated on the sideline.

We’ll find out more after the game.
