Redskins strong safety LaRon Landry is active for Monday night’s game against Dallas and is expected to make his first start since last Nov. 15.
Landry has not fully participated in a practice since last November, and he was limited in practice all week. He spent all of training camp on the physically unable to perform list because of an ailing left Achilles’ tendon and a hamstring strain.
Landry has been pining to get back on the field.
“Untame this beast, man,” he said last week.
Because Landry hasn’t played or fully participated in practice for so long, it will be interesting to see how Dallas tests him.
Landry last week was not concerned about his tackling sharpness, saying: “Tackling comes with an attitude, a passion. My attitude – I’m a hitter and I’m a tackler. So as far as tackling, I might fit a guy wrong, but for the most part I’m going to tackle a guy.”
The Redskins’ inactives are:
FB Darrel Young (Mike Sellers replaces him in the lineup)
WR Donte’ Stallworth
WR Leonard Hankerson
S DeJon Gomes
LB Markus White
OL Willie Smith
DL Darion Scott.
For Dallas, quarterback Tony Romo, running back Felix Jones and receiver Dez Bryant will play. Receiver Kevin Ogletree will replace inactive Miles Austin.
