While Robert Griffin III has been the center of attention on the practice field and just about everywhere else with the Washington Redskins, fellow rookie quarterback Kirk Cousins proved to be a star in the team’s rookie talent show.

Rookies have to perform for the rest of the team during training camp, and Cousins, offensive linemen Tom Compton and Nick Martinez put on quite the skit Tuesday night.

“Cousins does a pretty good Shanahan,” running back Evan Royster said.

That’s right: Cousins dressed up like coach Mike Shanahan, slick hair and all.

“Cousins came out in his loafers and his khaki shorts and shirt with a collar,” rookie offensive lineman Josh LeRibeus said. “Cousins was great.”

It was the first performance of the rookie talent show, and LeRibeus copped only to working on his routine, not wanting to ruin the secret of what he had in store.

Following Cousins’ performance doesn’t put LeRibeus or any other rookie in an enviable position.

“It’s gonna be hard to top, man,” defensive end Jarvis Jenkins said. “Some of those rookie got to come with it. He imitated Shanahan, and it was to the tee.”

Asked if he’d give Cousins two thumbs up, Jenkins said: “Oh, three thumbs up if I had a third one.”
