ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. | Left tackle Trent Williams limped to the Redskins’ team buses after injuring his left foot in Washington’s 7-6 victory over the Buffalo Bills in the preseason opener Thursday night.

An x-ray showed no sign of a fracture, but Williams was in pain after the game. He’ll wait to decide whether he will practice on Saturday.

“It’s just sore, that’s all,” he said.

Williams was injured while blocking for receiver Pierre Garcon on his 21-yard catch-and-run for a touchdown. A Bills player blocked left guard Maurice Hurt into Williams’ legs from behind.

Williams, the fourth-overall pick in 2010, has been one of the Redskins’ best players in training camp. Losing him for any amount of time would result in a significant dropoff on an already-shorthanded offensive line.

He has missed games due to injuries in each of his first two seasons.
