Right guard Chris Chester (sprained left ankle) and receiver Anthony Armstrong (sprained right shoulder) are expected to play against the Chicago Bears next Saturday after sitting out Thursday’s preseason opener.

Chester did not participate in team drills Saturday afternoon, but coach Mike Shanahan expects him back soon.

“I would say he’s at 85 percent,” Shanahan said. “Knowing Chris, not missing a play last year, he’ll probably be able to go here in a couple days.”

Armstrong practiced with a non-contact jersey on Saturday.

“We won’t want to have him bouncing around because it’s still a second-degree separation in that AC joint, but it shouldn’t keep him from playing.”

Defensive end Jarvis Jenkins missed Saturday’s practice with an illness.

“We think it was just the flu, so he should be back on Monday ready to go, no problem,” Shanahan said.

Reserve cornerback Morgan Trent will miss “a couple of days” with shoulder and knee injuries, Shanahan said.

Left guard Maurice Hurt missed practice with an inflamed tendon behind his left knee. “Hopefully it won’t keep him out too much,” Shanahan said.
