Right guard Chris Chester expects to return quickly from the left ankle sprain he suffered in Monday’s practice, possibly in time for Thursday’s preseason opener at Buffalo.
“It’s nothing major, really,” Chester told reporters after the Tuesday morning’s walkthrough. “I wouldn’t think it will take very long.”
Chester would play Thursday if it were a regular season game, he told reporters. He still might play; we should learn more about his status after Tuesday afternoon’s practice.
Rookie fifth-round pick Adam Gettis took Chester’s place with the first string on Monday.
