CLEVELAND — Here are Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III’s brief comments following the Redskins’ 38-21 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Griffin sat out the game because of an injured right knee.

On not playing:
“Players play. So I was not happy with the decision. At the end of the day that’s the decision they went with. I respect that, it doesn’t mean I have to neccessarily like it.”

On if he could’ve played:
“I feel like I could have.”

On if he can play next week:
“I feel like I could play this week, next week, the week after that. That’s not my decision once again.”

On the team’s long-term view of his injury:
“I understand what their viewpoint was. But I think all players know we’re brought here to perform, to help our team win. That’s what I’m here to do, so I wanted to play and they decided I didn’t need to play and it worked out great for us.”

On what coaches told him about not playing:
“Long term, obviously. Protecting me from myself. Not allowing me to go out there and put myself in harm’s way.”
