Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs will not play Sunday against the Washington Redskins after tearing his right biceps tendon last week.
He is among the Ravens’ inactives, putting more heat on safety Ed Reed at the Ravens’ secondary against quarterback Robert Griffin III and the Redskins.
“It doesn’t make our job any less or any harder. We just have to cover, cover some more and keep covering,” Reed said last week. “With a quarterback like Robert, you have to plaster [him] and make sure you’re still on your receivers anyway.”
It’s the first time since Suggs entered the league in 2003 that neither he nor linebacker Ray Lewis is in the Ravens’ lineup. Paul Kruger, Albert McClellan and Courtney Upshaw will split time at outside linebacker in Suggs’ absence.
Also inactive for the Ravens are linebacker Dannell Ellerbe, tight end Ed Dickson, cornerback Jimmy Smith, offensive lineman Ramon Harewood, defensive tackle Bryan Hall and receiver Deonte Thompson.
