The Redskins have hired former defensive lineman Phillip Daniels as their new director of player development. Daniels played 15 seasons in the NFL, including seven for the Redskins from 2004-10. He was one of the team’s most respected locker room leaders.
Daniels replaces Bobby Crumpler, who held the position for the last three seasons. His fate was not publicized, and a team spokesman was not aware of it. Last season was Crumpler’s ninth with the organization. He was a member of the strength and conditioning staff for the first six.
