Mike Shanahan had money and his passport stolen out of his locker room at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, the Washington Redskins said in a statement Thursday.
Director of security Ed Burke was quote in the team’s statement saying that “The Pittsburgh Police insisted on filing a police report because of the missing passport. There is an ongoing investigation. The missing property was not stowed in another bag as reported.”
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reported the money amount to be roughly $3,700 and that it and the passport were found in another bag. The Redskins were in Pittsburgh to face the Steelers on Oct. 28.
It was not immediately clear if the stolen property was recovered. Shanahan is set to speak with reporters following practice at about 3:30 p.m.
