Inside linebacker Perry Riley expects to play Sunday against the Carolina Panthers despite the strained left hamstring he suffered in the second half against Pittsburgh last Sunday.
“I feel good about my status on Sunday,” Riley said. “I think I’ll be able to play. I’m confident I’ll be able to play.”
Riley was limited in practice this week “not because I couldn’t go; just more of being cautious than anything,” he said.
Strong safety Brandon Meriweather (sprained left knee) and receiver Pierre Garcon (sprained right foot) were ruled out, as expected. Both have targeted the Nov. 18 game against Philadelphia, the first game after the bye week, for their return, although it’s not certain whether they’ll meet that. Meriweather was limited in practice all week. Garcon did not practice.
