London Fletcher came up to Robert Griffin III on the sideline last Thursday after the Redskins completed a field-goal drive to take a commanding 10-point lead over Dallas late in the fourth quarter.

“He usually never talks to me during the game,” Griffin said.

This was an important occasion, though. Griffin completed three passes on that clutch drive, helping to secure victory. It was a strong response to the interception he threw on the previous drive.

Fletcher complimented Griffin on his performance, which meant a lot to him.

As he looks forward to the final five games, he’s mindful of veterans looking to make the most of dwindling opportunities.

“You can feel the excitement they have about what we have brewing here,” Griffin said. “You want to do it for them. When I was in college, I wanted to do it for the seniors when I was a freshman and now that I’m a rookie, you want to do it for those vets.”
