Strong safety Brandon Meriweather is a “long shot” to play this week against Carolina, coach Mike Shanahan. He is much more likely to return on Nov. 18 against Philadelphia, the first game after the bye week.
“I would say the chances would be after the bye,” Shanahan said. “Is there a chance? Yeah, there’s a chance, but I’d say it’s more of a long shot.”
Meriweather was limited in Wednesday’s practice. So was inside linebacker Perry Riley, who strained a hamstring in the second half of Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh.
Receiver Pierre Garcon (right foot) did not practice.
Linebacker London Fletcher (hamstring), cornerbacks Josh Wilson (shoulder and David Jones (Achilles) and punter Sav Rocca (right knee) fully participated in practice.
