Aldrick Robinson’s concussion could have been avoided if he weren’t wearing headphones to warm up before the Tampa Bay game last Sunday, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to stop listening to music before games.
Robinson was knocked unconscious for more than a minute after safety Brandon Meriweather collided with him. Meriweather was tracking a thrown ball, while Robinson, a second-year receiver, was walking.
“I was just out there lost, man,” Robinson said Friday. “I had my head down with my music on loud, so I couldn’t hear nobody telling me to watch out. I just got knocked out.”
Not wearing headphones would have saved Robinson, he said.
“I would have been able to avoid it because I would have heard everyone saying, ‘Watch out! Move! Somebody is coming!’”
That doesn’t mean Robinson is going to change his pregame routine, though. He fully participated in Friday’s practice and is expected to be active Sunday against Atlanta.
“I’m still going to wear my headphones,” he said. “I’m just going to have my head up.”
