Robert Griffin III and DeAngelo Hall each said players’ conduct in the Redskins’ loss to St. Louis last Sunday “got out of hand.” Darrel Young called it “the dirtiest game I’ve ever played in. If the long list of players fined is any indication, the NFL didn’t disagree. At least $55,000 in fines were handed down.
According to the league, the following players were fined:
Redskins WR Joshua Morgan was fined $7,875 for unsportsmanlike conduct (throwing the football at CB Cortland Finnegan in the closing moments).
Redskins LB Lorenzo Alexander was fined $15,750 for unnecessary roughness (a horse collar tackle of PR Danny Amendola).
Rams CB Janoris Jenkins was fined $15,750 for unnecessary roughness (a helmet-to-helmet hit against defenseless TE Fred Davis). This play was not penalized during the game.
Rams DE Robert Quinn was fined $7,875 for unnecessary roughness; he unnecessarily struck an opponent (LT Trent Williams) in the head area.
Rams G Quinn Ojinaka was fined $7,875 for unnecessary roughness; he struck an opponent (LB London Fletcher) late. This play was not penalized during the game.
…and these are the fines the league publicized. It’s possible there were others. The league confirms fines involving only plays about which reporters specifically ask.
