Receiver Pierre Garcon’s injured right foot is improving, but he’s not sure whether he’ll be healthy enough to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Garcon was limited in practice Wednesday. Afterwards, he spoke to reporters for the first time in about two weeks.
“There’s a lot of progress going along with the injury, and it’s coming along very well,” he said. “It’s very frustrating, but it’s part of football. You have to deal with problems as they come. I’m trying to heal up as fast as I can to get back out there and help the team.”
Garcon clarified that he injured his right foot running to the end zone on his 88-yard score early in the Redskins’ Week 1 victory over New Orleans. Garcon had four catches for 109 yards in that game. Since then, his recovery has gone slowly.
“It’s just a lot of pain,” he said. “It’s got to take some time off to heal up properly and to get back out there to full strength.”
