RICHMOND—Cornerback DeAngelo Hall returned to team drills Monday afternoon after missing a week with a sprained right ankle.
“It went all right,” he said. “It’s still painful, but I was able to push through it. It’s sore now, so I know it’s going to be extremely sore tomorrow.”
Hall feels OK during controlled movements, but “those instantaneous movements, that’s when it gets kind of tough,” he said. “That’s what we were out there trying to test today.”
Strong safety Brandon Meriweather also returned (right knee) returned to team drills for the first time since last Saturday. He came out at the end of Monday’s practice, but said he believes he made progress.
Rookie tight end Jordan Reed bruised the top of his foot during individual drills Monday afternoon, Shanahan said. He was scheduled for an evening MRI exam.
Left guard Josh LeRibeus slightly hyperextended his right knee during team drills. “It hurt right out the gate, but give it a little time, it’ll be fine,” he said.
Right guard Adam Gettis (hamstring), receiver Donte Stallworth (hamstring) and running back Chris Thompson (left knee) also participated in team drills.
Safety Reed Doughty (general soreness) had a veteran’s day off.
Fullback Eric Kettani watched practice with a wrap on his right knee. Offensive lineman Tevita Stevens (right foot/ankle) did not practice.
Receiver Devery Henderson was absent from the afternoon session because of a death in his immediate family, Shanahan said.
