Morocco Brown, the Redskins director of pro personnel, was not hired by the Arizona Cardinals to fill their general manager vacancy. Instead, Cardinals announced they promoted Steve Keim, formerly their vice president of player personnel, on Tuesday.

Brown has been with the Redskins since 2008. He interviewed with the Cardinals last Friday.

He leads the Redskins’ scouting operation of professional leagues and coordinates the Redskins’ advance scouting of opponents.

“Morocco’s done a great job,” Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said last week. “He’s a hard worker, a very dedicated, a very detailed person. If you need to know who’s out there and who gives you the best chance to help your football team when somebody goes down, he does a fantastic job of watching film and a great job of evaluating players.”
