Cornerback DeAngelo Hall injured his right ankle during one-on-one drills Monday afternoon. He had it taped and briefly returned to practice. He was scheduled for an x-ray Monday evening as a precaution.
“I feel good,” Hall said after practice. “If it was a game, I probably would have tried to at least get back out there, but they told me to just sit.”
Hall went to the ground clutching his right leg without being contacted. He matched up against undrafted free agent receiver Skye Dawson. Dawson ran a comeback route, and when Hall planted at the top of the break, he went down. He put no weight on the leg while trainers helped him off the field.
“I got beat, kind of rolled it a little bit,” Hall said grinning.
Right guard Adam Gettis missed practice with a mildly sprained hamstring. He is expected to miss a couple days, Shanahan said. “Minor setback. Be back this week,” Gettis tweeted.
Inside linebacker Keenan Robinson is scheduled to have surgery on his torn left pectoral muscle next Tuesday, coach Mike Shanahan said. The surgery will determine whether he is out for the season.
Strong safety Brandon Meriweather (right knee ACL reconstruction surgery last year) sat out team drills to rest.
In other personnel news, free agent Joe Mays, whom the Redskins hosted on a visit over the weekend, signed with the Houston Texans, according to the Houston Chronicle.
