Redskins offensive lineman Maurice Hurt had arthroscopic surgery on one of his knees Thursday, coach Mike Shanahan said after the team concluded it’s sixth organized team activity. The team hopes Hurt will be ready for training camp, to which players report July 24.
“The doctors made a decision to clean that knee out a little bit,” Shanahan said. “It has been inflamed. Hopefully there will be no setback, he’ll be ready to go when we go to camp.”
Safety Jordan Pugh was absent. An ear infection prevented him from flying back from to Northern Virginia from his home in Texas before OTAs began this week on Tuesday, Shanahan said. DeJon Gomes replaced him with the first string, and he worked alongside Reed Doughty.
Defensive end Adam Carriker was absent, as he was last Thursday. His surgically repaired right quadriceps tendon is inflamed, Shanahan said. There is no timetable for his return, but the Redskins know he won’t be back before training camp.
