The Washington Times - November 7, 2013, 06:10PM

The Washington Redskins will look to put together their first winning streak of the season on Thursday when they head to the Metrodome to face the Minnesota Vikings.

The Redskins defeated the San Diego Chargers, 30-24, in overtime on Sunday despite holding a 10-point lead with seven minutes remaining. Quarterback Robert Griffin III played what may have been his best game this season, completing a season-high 71.9 percent of his passes for 291 yards, while running back Alfred Morris carried the ball 25 times for 121 yards and a touchdown.

Minnesota pushed the Dallas Cowboys to the limit on the road on Sunday, falling 27-23 after the Cowboys scored a touchdown with 35 seconds remaining. Quarterback Christian Ponder, benched earlier this season after missing time because of a broken rib, returned to complete 25 of 37 passes for 236 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

This will be only the 14th game the Redskins have played on Thursday, though three of those games have taken place in the last three years. The two teams last played on a Thursday in 1984, when the Redskins won, 31-17, at the Metrodome.
