Redskins inactives vs. Dallas include PR Chris Thompson

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Redskins will be without reserve nose tackle Chris Neild (calf) and rookie linebacker Brandon Jenkins (ankle) for Sunday night’s game at AT&T Stadium against the Dallas Cowboys.

Also, sixth-round draft pick Bacarri Rambo has been scratched. Rambo has struggled at times early this season and will not play for the first time in five games.

That means safety Jose Gumbs will make his NFL debut. Gumbs was an undrafted free agent signed out of Monmouth who was cut by both New Orleans and Kansas City last season before catching on with the Redskins at the start of this year’s training camp.

Also, kick returner/running back Chris Thompson is inactive. That’s a temporary end to the experiment of Thompson as the primary punt returner, which he had not done since his senior year of high school. Josh Morgan will take his place on punts.

The other inactives: Third-string quarterback Rex Grossman, safety Jordan Pugh and offensive guard Josh LeRibeus.

That also means tight end Fred Davis (ankle), kicker Kai Forbath (groin), running back Alfred Morris (ribs) and rookie tight end Jordan Reed (thigh) – all listed as probable before the contest – will play, as expected. Reed was injured during the Sept. 22 game against Detroit and missed the game the next week against Oakland.

Forbath last played in the season opener on Sept. 9 vs. Philadelphia before injuring his groin later that week. Tight end Logan Paulsen is still dealing with a sprained knee, but is active today.

Reserve linebacker Rob Jackson and defensive end Jarvis Jenkins will also play for the first time this season. Both men have concluded four-game suspensions by the NFL.
