Ike Hilliard, who spent the 2012 season as the Washington Redskins’ wide receivers coach before spending last year with the Buffalo Bills, has returned to the team in that capacity, the team announced.

Hilliard, 37, completed his 12-year playing career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2005 through 2008, when coach Jay Gruden was an offensive assistant. He began his coaching career in 2009 with the Florida Tuskers of the UFL, where current Redskins defensive coordinator Jim Haslett was the coach, Gruden was the offensive coordinator and current Redskins offensive coordinator Sean McVay was an offensive assistant.

Gruden has yet to hire a quarterbacks coach or a running backs coach.
