You’ve got to be kidding. The Raiders signed safety Adam Achuleta, the poster boy for what went wrong with the 2006 Redskins. Washington benched Archuleta for the aging Troy Vincent, just signed off waivers, and then for career special-teamer Vernon Fox before dumping him on Chicago the following offseason. The Bears, coached by Lovie Smith, Archuleta’s defensive coordinator in St. Louis, benched him during the 2007 season. Now Archuleta has signed with Oakland, which reportedly could start him at safety or linebacker. Archuleta can’t cover anyone and isn’t the hitter he once was. Yet another reason why the Raiders are 19-61 since winning the AFC in 2002.
