Coach Jim Zorn just met with the media to discuss last night’s 13-10 win against the Jets. On the injury front, linebacker Rian Wallace was the most serious. He has a dislocated left shoulder, which could seriously hamper his chances of making the roster. Zorn said both Ladell Betts and Randy Thomas have knee injuries that are not serious, but both could end up missing a few days of practice. Other injuries from the game included tight end Jason Goode, who caught the winning TD pass, could miss time this week with turf toe and reserve center Justin Geisinger has a strained knee.

*Zorn said Jason Campbell hesitated and passed on a couple of throws, which helped lead to his 4-for-10 performance. Zorn wants him to trust his arm strength and instincts more.

*He was very complimentary of Ladell Betts, who had 34 yards on six carries. All three running backs had nice games as the team churned out 181 yards on 22 carries.

*Malcolm Kelly could be back to practice by the middle of this week with the hope that he might play against Carolina. Clinton Portis will definitely play against the Panthers, and play more than he did against the Bills.

*Finally, Zorn had a couple of great lines about two of his rookies, Colt Brennan and Devin Thomas. Brennan’s legend is growing with his preseason prowess, but Zorn wanted to try and temper everyone’s enthusiasm. “Everyone was saying Colt Brennan came back to earth last week. I guess he’s back in outer space again,” and “I don’t want to splash the water in his face just yet.”

As for Thomas, Zorn said he saw Thomas putting ice down his back “midway through the first quarter,” which he found pretty funny. Zorn said Thomas did have a lot of responsibilities, but the message about his need to continue his conditioning, as well as his shock with the speed of the game, was clear.
