Jim Zorn just met with the media here at Redskin Park. While there isn’t any way to a positive spin on what traspired last night, the injury news was not as bad as it could have been. DE Jason Taylor had an MRI this morning and there is no ligament damage. He is expected to miss 10 days to two weeks with sprained knee. Zorn did not rule him out for the season opener next Thursday, but it is a strong possibility.

Other injury news:

SEE RELATED:

*Right tackle Jon Jansen has a sprained right foot and might only miss a few days

*Defensive end Andre Carter has a calf contusion, which Zorn called an “ouwie”

*Cornerback Matterral Richardson has a right groin strain

*Linebacker Alfred Fincher has a right hamstring strain

*Safety Vernon Fox has a sprained right wrist

As for the guys who didn’t play Saturday night:

*Zorn said he hopes safety LaRon Landry is up to full speed by the end of this week

*He also said Marcus Washington (hip) is OK

*Linebacker Matt Sinclair is going to see a back specialist because the injury, which has been called back spasms, is not healing

*Rookie wideout Malcolm Kelly (knee) could play Thursday against the Jaguars

Beyond the injuries, Zorn spent a lot of time talking about his offensive line, because quite frankly, the group was pretty terrible against the Panthers. He callem their pass protection “soft” and felt they didn’t sustain blocks on running plays. That’s probably something that needs to be corrected.
