Griffin sidelined

Cornelius Griffin had to leave practice this morning with back spasms, joining fellow defensive tackle Anthony Montgomery (broken hand) and free safety LaRon Landry (hamstring) on the sidelines.

Coach Jim Zorn said that he’s not sure if Griffin or Landry will be able to play in Saturday’s preseason home opener against Buffalo. Montgomery will not play.

Zorn said that defensive ends Jason Taylor and Andre Carter and middle linebacker London Fletcher, who joined Griffin in enjoying veteran’s nights off in last Sunday’s Hall of Fame Game, will likely see brief action.
