Jansen a no-go

Right tackle Jon Jansen just told me that not only won’t he play on Sunday at Cincinnati, he won’t even make the trip, staying home to rest the left knee he sprained last week at Baltimore.

“It swelled up on me pretty good,” said Jansen of the knee’s reaction to his limited practice on Thursday. “It stiffened up so this won’t be the week I get back in there. Hopefully, I can get the swelling out and get back next week.”

Defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin’s abdomen is still so painful that he didn’t practice on Friday and he likely won’t play Sunday. Kedric Golston, who has his own problematic ankle, will likely replace Griffin. Safety Chris Horton, who missed practice all week with a sprained right shoulder, is also doubtful. Mike Green would start if Horton can’t play.
